Ethical Standards
As part of membership of the PSI Association, our members agree to uphold the following standards of professional and ethical conduct.
Members agree to:
- provide a professional standard of service excellence to their clients.
- value courtesy, promptness, compassion and an understanding of their clients' needs.
- ensure that the client is fully informed regarding the particular service that the client is seeking at all times without exception.
- deal discreetly with client details and information at all times.
- create an environment for clients that is safe and operating within the legal limits of their country or location.
- charge a fee appropriate to the service they deliver.
- refer clients to a suitable professional for legal and medical advice should it be necessary and never offer advice to clients outside of their professional training and experience.
- refrain from attempting to influence or control the outcome of information given to a client at any time.
- not make false claims as to the types of abilities they have, the strength of those abilities and the quality of such abilities.
- claim only the level of accuracy that they believe they deliver and to ensure that their clients understand that free will plays a part in their future.
- not claim a 100% accuracy rate of service. This is an unrealistic figure to be offered as it is impossible to know beforehand what the exact accuracy of a service is, or to be 100% effective or accurate 100% of the time.
- continue to make improvements in the quality of service offered to clients, where possible.
- not sell or promote services or products that claim to carry mystical powers, bring people together by psychic means, or that take away the free will of others such as a love spell.
- not suggest or imply that items of a pychic or spiritual nature are required by a client to purchase. Service providers may instead recommend items but never present them in a way that suggests the item has any other purpose than that for which it was produced, e.g. to ward off curses.
- only refer to their membership of the Association in terms of their verification as an Intuitive Reader or Energy Practitioner. Additional services offered by a member that relate to personal belief systems (such as rituals, spellcasting, incantations, ceremonies, etc.) are not supported by the Association (as we do not verify these areas) and therefore should be offered as a separate service to the energy-related work. Clients must be given the clear choice of whether or not they wish to include that aspect as part of their service. This is not due to any prejudice, but an effort to remain neutral in relation to the belief systems of individuals and to maintain a fair standard for all members of the Association.
