Full Membership
Membership with the PSI Association tells clients that you are a genuine service provider with an ethical, high quality of service. Where a customer is hesitant to take the word of the service provider as to their standard of service, they will be more likely to purchase from someone whose good name has been substantiated and supported by an association which does not gain financially or personally from their purchase and only aims to verify the ethical nature of the prospective service. This is what PSI Association does.
Membership Entitlements
As a full member of the PSI Association, you will have:
- Access to articles of interest from around the world in your area of expertise.
- The right to contribute articles thereby sharing your experiences with others in the PSI and the public. This can help to heighten your profile.
- A members only forum where you can enter into discussions with other full members. Some full members will be forum moderators for the Initiates to assist them with their learning.
- The right to become a part of the PSI Mentor system where you can be paid to mentor an initiate.
- Opportunities to network with others in the industry in your country and worldwide.
- Business information and updates to help you stay in touch with your industry and other industries associated with your work such as financial, insurance and government bodies.
- Inclusion in the PSI Directory which the public will have access to when looking for the ethical service providers in your industry.
- Access to the advice and recommendations of others in your industry including industry leaders.
Ethical Standards
The PSI Association's Ethical Standards are a vital component of membership as a professional in the industry. Every prospective member should read these carefully to ensure they are willing to uphold each of the standards in their service to clients at all times.
Standard of Competency
In order to reassure clients of your high competency and professionalism, it is important for the Association to verify all claims that are made about you. As such, successful applicants will be those who can confirm their professional and ethical practices via information that both they and their clients provide about their services.
Why we set high standards
Although many people can have the best of intentions and wish to do well by their clients, the fact remains that not everyone has adequate accuracy (in the case of Intuitive Readers) or effectiveness (in the case of Energy Practitioners) to be offering their services professionally. Some people can be accurate/effective on the odd occasion (say 20% of the time) but this is not good enough in any industry to be called a professional. Someone working in the plumbing industry, for example, would have to answer for providing a service at this rate. It should be the same for Intuitive Services. Clients seeking services in this industry need to be able to rely upon a high level of accuracy/effectiveness. The PSI Association believes that a level of at least 98% should be the average, but we allow 95% to be fair.
Assessment
The questions and level of standards have been personally set by our Directors - all leaders in their fields.
We will evaluate each applicant to determine their suitability for full professional membership. Two sets of standards (one for Intuitive Readers and one for Energy Practitioners) have been developed so that all applicants are objectively assessed based on the same criteria. We will rate the information gathered via questionnaires completed by both the applicant and their clients so that their quality of service, ethical practice and level of competency and accuracy can be determined. As stated above, the Association considers a professional level of accuracy or effectiveness to be a minimum of 95%.
Categories for assessment include:
- Demonstration of a professional service.
- Understanding of your ability and how it works.
- Level of information accuracy specific to your type of service (for Intuitive Readers).
- Level of effectiveness in treatment (for Energy Practitioners).
After this process, should we need further clarification of your suitability, we will require a sample of your service. So all applicants should be prepared to perform a sample reading or treatment for one of the Board Members or an entrusted representative.
Applicants who do not meet the Full Member standards will be given Intitiate Membership to make use of Professional Development information and Mentors until they are ready to be assessed again for Full Membership. The Association will inform the applicant of the specific areas that need to be further developed in order to be reconsidered for Full Membership.
Application Requirements:
- Contact details of 3 clients who are willing to be contacted by us (please supply a current email address). We will ask any number of these referees to rate various aspects of your service. This is a compulsory part of your membership and will help us gauge your suitability for full professional membership. Please start collecting client details (with permission) as soon as possible so you'll have them to submit along with your assessment questionnaire.
- The provision of information about your professional experience, abilities and service, via a detailed questionnaire and additional communication if necessary.
- If requested, you must be willing to have your service assessed by an established member of the Association. This may be necessary to assist decision-making.
Once your payment is received, the PSI Association will send you a questionnaire to be filled out and returned to us for evaluation, along with your referee details. We will then also contact one or more of your referees.
Application Fee: AUD$20
The fee is a one-time payment to cover initial administration and evaluation. There is no annual renewal payment required.
Advertising & Marketing
The PSI Association does not promote individual members, except to provide a Member's Directory on the Association's website. Therefore, members are responsible for the advertising and marketing of their own services. However, at times the Association may be in a position to offer members marketing opportunities should they wish to be involved.
